If you need assistance during our opening hours, please telephone us on 01481 232929 and we will do our best to help. We reserve emergency slots each day but there may not be time for definite treatment and if we are busy you may need to sit and wait.

Out Of Hours Dental Emergencies

Temple View dental practice is part of a co-operative of local dental practices that provide emergency out of hours dental care for our combined registered patients.

A dental emergency is defined as:

• Dental trauma resulting in substantial damage to the teeth or mouth
• Pain that is not controlled by normal analgesics (Paracetamol or Ibuprofen)
• Swelling due to dental infection that is getting worse
• Uncontrolled bleeding following a recent dental extraction

If you have a dental emergency out of hours that meets the above criteria, please telephone us on 01481 232929 where our answerphone message will give directions to the on-call practice. Please be advised that the on-call emergency dentist may not be your regular dental service provider but will provide you with appropriate advice or, if necessary, an out of hours emergency dental appointment.

Our co-operative of dental practices uses nationally recognised guidelines for emergency dentistry. This allows us to standardise our emergency dental care procedures ensuring that our patients receive the same high levels of professional care from all of our on-call dental practices and out of hours emergency dental teams. Out of hours emergency appointments will incur a call out fee for which you will be liable and there will be a charge for the treatment you receive. The fees are the same regardless of which dental practice or emergency dental team you are treated by. Your emergency dentist will be able to provide you with an estimate of fees depending on your symptoms and dental needs.

If you are not registered with us or any other practice, please call the Emergency Department or 01481 220000 where you will be directed to the island's On-Call Emergency Dentist. The same criteria for a dental emergency will apply.
